Cod Liver Oil is a rich source of the Omega 3 essential fatty acids EPA and DHA. These two essential fatty acids have been shown to support a number of health related functions. Cod Liver Oil is also a good source of Vitamin D.
EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) are both long chain fatty acids that have been shown to provide a number of health benefits including; reduced blood pressure and cholesterol, improved immune function and reduce inflammation. They also provide the basic building blocks for nerve tissue and brain cells. As a majority of people struggle to consume sufficient amounts of essential fatty acids in their normal diet, Cod Liver Oil supplementation may be crucial.
As sunshine and sunlight are the main sources of Vitamin D production, a large proportion of people tend to consume Cod Liver Oil in the winter months when there is less chance of exposure to the sun. However, if you lack Vitamin D in general it may be advisable to supplement with Cod Liver Oil throughout the year. Our Cod Liver Oil also contains Vitamin A which has been shown to support healthy skin, hair and nails whilst the Vitamin E content acts as an antioxidant.
Our Cod Liver Oil is sourced from the unpolluted fisheries of Iceland, ensuring you receive the highest quality available in its purest form. We do not use deodorised oil.

well priced but not enough EPA/DHA

I'm not going to knock this product because it is very good. Any product that gives you EPA/DHA is a good product - this is VERY GOOD because it is cheap - it falls in line with anyone's budget. Believe me you need to seriously consider taking EPA/DHA. This could extend your life or even save it. What price do you put on that?
I am happy to promote this because if you are financially challenged a small amount of EPA/DHA is better for you than none. The more effective and higher concentrate capsules can cost five or six times the amount or more.
Essentially I believe you need to take between 500 and 700 mg of EPA/DHA a day.
I wouldn't go much above 700mg a day as I think this is too much. However, I believe below 300mg is too little. I guess everyone has an opinion but I researched this for some time before making my own mind up. Probably best you do too.
I'll end by saying of course you can increase your EPA/DHA by taking more than one of these tablets and so increasing the EPA/DHA effect but in doing so you input into your system more of what you don't require.
I buy a much more expensive option that gives me 700mg every day but then that's my choice. I don't spend so much on other things.
This is a great product and if you don't take fish oils at the moment or are just considering them then this isn't a bad place to start.
